VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 28, 2025 – waterStrider Treatment Inc. (“waterStrider”), today announced that it is now an active member of the North American Selenium Working Group (NASWG), a leading forum dedicated to advancing the understanding and management of selenium in the environment.
NASWG brings together industry leaders, scientists, and regulators to share insights and drive collaborative research on selenium-related environmental challenges. Its members include major mining companies, engineering firms, and other organizations at the forefront of selenium management.
Representing waterStrider at NASWG’s biannual meeting in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (June 10–12, 2025) will be Dr. Rob Stephenson, Founder and CTO, and Andriyko Herchak, CEO. Dr. Stephenson will deliver a technical presentation entitled: “Introducing Amprey™: A Novel Electrochemical Treatment Technology to Remove Dissolved Selenate.”
“We’re looking forward to presenting our technologies for removing dissolved selenium and participating in discussions with NASWG’s distinguished members,” said Andriyko Herchak, waterStrider’s CEO.
waterStrider’s proprietary systems have demonstrated repeated breakthrough success to remove dissolved selenium from mine-impacted effluent. Most recently, dissolved selenium was reduced from 207 ppb to below 0.5 ppb (parts per billion), which is greater than 99.8% removal - surpassing water quality discharge guidelines in Canada and water discharge criteria in the U.S. This water was formulated to imitate water at a uranium mine in Northern Saskatchewan.
